An Interesting Idea…

I was listening to Alex Hormozi’s podcast the other day (The Game) and he was talking about what an absolute scam he thinks 4 years colleges are.

He thinks that, instead of spending $50k-$200 (depending on what type of college you pick and where you go) that you should narrow down and area of specialization that you think you might enjoy (being a plumber, being a CEO, being a whatever…) and then find and seek out the top performing people in that field.

Then, you get in contact with them in whatever way you possibly can and you request that they mentor you. You’ve got a budget of $50-$200k to pay them to teach you what they do (because you’re not giving it to some university anymore).

You’ll get plenty of non responses or no’s but I think it’s a pretty great idea. I imagine one of your people will be willing to take you on and think that you’re a pretty creative person for taking this route.

Worst case, if you can’t find anyone to say yes, then, I guess, go the normal route and enroll in a college.

This obviously doesn’t work for the careers that require legit education and licenses like doctors and lawyers and such but for all the business related ones, I think you could get way more bang for the buck taking his advice.

What do you think of that idea? Shoot me back an email and let me know.
